WD-40 will clean it up. Maybe a little sandpaper to clean up the contacts in the switch. You can also just cut the wires and go around the switch. I never saw much sense in that switch anyway. If you take off with the stand down, you will learn not to do it real quick. If and when that switch goes out on Linda's '96, it's history.
